Biography, Education and Training

Originally from the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Vid lives in Soquel with his wife Desha who works at Cabrillo College and their two children, Keala and Keoni. As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, Vid attributes his success to competent, compassionate, and conscientious mentors who cared, encouraged, challenged, and supported him throughout his educational career. He looks forward to building new and deepening existing partnerships with faculty and staff at UCSC to impact the success of low income and Latino students in the STEM fields.

Vid earned a BA in Communications from the University of Guam, MA in School Administration from University of San Franscisco, and Ed.D from the College of Education at the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa.
